Calema are a music duo from São Tomé and Príncipe with origins in Portugal, formed by brothers António Mendes Ferreira and Fradique Mendes Ferreira. The duo’s name refers to the special undulation on the African coast. Calema started singing together at a young age as a hobby. In 2008, they moved to Portugal to pursue professional degrees in the music industry. While in France in 2011, they created a cover channel on YouTube and entered talent shows, winning one called “Luso artist”.In 2014, Anselmo Ralph helped them enter the Portuguese music scene.
